Today I received a link to the Home Hardware flyer, and on page 8, there are smoke detectors on sale. Reminded me that we all need to set ourselves a very important reminder....
In Ontario, they promote smoke detector testing & new battery installation every 6 months. The easiest way to remember to do it, is to do it when we change our clocks for daylight savings time. This fall, it's on Sunday, November 7, 2010. So go mark it on your calendars!!! Takes no time, and can save the lives of you and your family and pets.
Other bonuses include:
- saving you the cost of your deductible and increased insurance premiums
- avoiding the disruption caused by restorations, renovations or new construction
- avoiding the emotional toll from surviving a fire (or worse)
BEFORE Nov. 7: Make sure to look at your existing detectors, and go buy new batteries that will fit them. Start preparing now, and you can get them on sale too!
