I received this wonderful tip from Mike Michalowicz this morning about motivating employees. His experience shows that it starts with their 1st day on the job.
If you're like me, you'll remember a first day with a pile of HR paperwork, sitting in a cubicle reading boring procedures or program objectives, trying to remember the floor plan from the brief tour someone gave you before they headed off for their far-away office, and feeling left out eating alone at lunch.
