The 'goodies' arrived!

Woohoo! the box arrived on Wednesday, and I happily unpacked a bag of documents, my new Tomboy Tools t-shirt, and my Super Stepper toolbox, loaded with all the basic tools, knee pads, tool belt, and other cool stuff. As the company proclaims - their tools are well designed. I am most impressed by the features, and the toolbox is brilliant. Funny thing is - except for the TT logo on its front, it's identical to the toolbox I bought many, many, many years ago!!!! And it's got to be the only item that's lasted me through the years (except my clock radio, and my husband!). I look at this as a great coincidence and positive sign.

Since the arrival of my kit, I've been busy customizing invitations, hand-outs, catalogues, order forms, and preparing for my first shows. First one is to my family & relatives. I'm so blessed to have their support. ('course they could be coming for the home-cooked dinner I offered them right after the show!) Then there's a second show booked for a group of girlfriends that live in my neighbourhood. This too will provide me with a safe entrance into the 'show' business. I'm hoping for a booking from one of these two events, so I can move further afield, and start presenting workshops specific to a hostesses interests. That's when things will get really interesting: teaching skills and techniques, and helping others feel comfortable about getting on with a project they've been dreaming about (or fixing something around the house that's been bugging them). Oh, and then there are Christmas shows that I'm planning on showing at.

It's all very exciting, and a little overwhelming. The gals in the company are incredibly supportive - I've dialed into 3 information-packed teleconferences already, with another happening tonight, and received all kinds of great documents & ideas to choose from. They've been with me all the way. I'm looking forward to letting them know how my first shows go.

So much to learn, and so much to share and pass on. What a great opportunity.

Cool tools rule!
